2023 Veterans Cup Round 7 Lake of Menteith

Military Veterans Fly Fishing Cup 7th and Final Round.
20 Military Veterans took part in our final round today. Lots of cloud cover but ambient and water temperatures made the fishing very tricky.
Today we added a pairs event as a bit of fun which was won by Stuart McBean and Jock Royan. There was a wide variety of prizes, donated by our generous sponsors #WortonUtilities & #G&MutilitiesLTD and the committee. These were shared equally between all participants.

Graeme Ferguson was duly crowned 2023 Champion with a very credible 7 Points (1 first & 3 Second places) from his best 4 events. Hard on his heels was Jock Royan 8 points (2 first, 1 second and a 4th place) and John Paul Maestri 9 points (2 first. 1 third and a 4th place). Just out of the prizes was Graeme Sharp with 10 points (1 first, 2 seconds and a 5th place). A fantastic and closely contested event and I’m sure 2024 will also bring equal excitement. I’ll add a copy of the spreadsheet on our Website later this week with the full year’s results.
Just a reminder that we have a 3-day event running from 18-20 October and there are 3 places available, so please let me know if you are interested. The Lake of Menteith Fisheries traditionally fishes very well in October and the quality fish will be feeding in the top few feet of water.
