2023 Veterans Cup Round 6 Lake of Menteith

Another fantastic day’s sport yesterday at the Lake of Menteith Fisheries on the penultimate 6th Round of our Veterans Cup. 21 members and 2 guests fished the match so great to see such a positive attendance.

We had a few torrential downpours throughout the day, which were greeted with a few expletives from the dry fly purists however on the whole, conditions were ideal. The fish quality was absolutely exceptional with many rod-benders going well over 4lbs in weight. Most consistent methods were Boobies/Blobs/Fabs fished just under the surface.

Top rod was John Paul Maestri with a highly credible 14 fish. I can’t really add anything further to that other than the fact that he was in a single boat and his score card remains unsigned .

Results below and Magic’s win significantly closed the gap on current leader Graeme Ferguson. All to play for on the final round - Sunday 10th September. For those with the same number of fish, points were awarded based upon the time of your first fish.
