2023 Veterans Cup Round 3 Lake of Menteith

Military Veterans Cup Rd3 Results.

We were greeted by almost perfect conditions yesterday at the Lake of Menteith Fisheries. 100% cloud cover and initially no wind. It was a simple case of using any recent knowledge on fish location and heading in that direction. 90% of the boats left the beach and turned left, either into International Bay, the Butts, Tod Hole or Loch End. John Paul Maestri and I decided to stick clear of the armada and we started at Sam’s point. It was clear pretty soon that covering water Loch style would be impossible due to a lack of wind so our plan quicky changed to open water searching for rising fish.

Other boats had started well, particularly Bryan Yip and Glen Lamont who were both on 7 fish by lunchtime. Top rod however was Graeme Sharp who added a further 7 fish in the afternoon to his 4 in the morning.
