2023 Veterans Cup Round 4 Lake of Menteith

Quite a challenging day at the Lake of Menteith yesterday in Round 4 of our Veterans Cup matches. Conditions appeared ideal with some cloud cover and a N Easterly Breeze. The fish were high in the water and continued to be so even when the Sun split the skies, however they were not easy to catch, albeit lots of plucks, pulls, swirls and follows! Most of the fish were caught around Lochend, Kate’s Brae, Tod Hole and long drifts in open water from the road shore across to the Butts.

Just a reminder that your top 4 scores count from the 7 Veterans Cup Matches and those below with the same number of fish are separated by the time of their first fish.

Currently after 4 Rounds, our most consistent angler and clear leader is Fergie. He has set an impressive target of 11 points. (A 1st, 2 x 2nd and a 6th Place) which will take some beating. That said, Graeme Sharp has made an impressive start and having only fished 2 events has a 1st & 2nd in the bag, so all to play for.

Thanks once again to Magic, the knot specialist for providing a top class lunch which was greatly appreciated by all. There really is far more to these Veterans outings than catching fish!

Special mention and thanks to our guest anglers Eck Moffat who caught a very credible 10 Fish
