Round 2, Military Veterans Cup - Lake of Menteith

What a difference a month makes, the lake performed well today for the club and produced some fantastic fish and excellent sport. The day started well with over cast conditions and a very light breeze, most of our boats headed straight to International bay to try and bag an early fish.

Glen’s first cast and only two minutes into the competition saw him hook into a fish, quickly followed by Eck. It’s no surprise that buzzers on a washing line were working well from the get go, the only difference was in the choice of line.

The fish came consistently through out the morning and John took and early lead before heading back to the lodge to prepare the lunch. At 12:30 the armada beached itself and 20 salad dodging fisherman demolished the amazing lunch laid on by the club.

The afternoon saw the sport slow down but the fish kept coming to those who persevered with the buzzers. Top rod today was John (Polo), closely followed by Graeme, Jock and ME!

On a personal note I’d really like to thank Graham Fulton for a brilliant day. The great thing about this club is spending time with like minded veterans, shooting the “shit” and having a laugh doing it.
